Making Technology Work

EGS specialises in electronic and software solutions design and manufacture. The key to the success of EGS is the range and depth of the technical skills available within the company. These skills encompass Electronic Design, Software Design (both embedded and PC) and Mechanical design. EGS can also offer a manufacturing capability which allows the company to offer a complete design and supply service for OEM's requiring electronic products. The organisation currently has two main areas of business -
  • Electronic Design and Manufacturing:
    • High end circuit system and circuit board design
    • Custom carrier card (motherboard) design for RadiSys COM Express Modules (see our RadiSys page)
    • Custom Electronic Design particularly in the field of Human / Machine Interface systems
    • Design and manufacture of of ruggedised 'military standard' Panel PCs and monitors

  • Asset Management:
    • The use of RFID technology integrated with various hardware platforms incorporating software written by EGS to allow customers to manage their assets in ways that have previously not been possible
    • Custom Software Design particularly in manufacturing industry

On 10 April 2012 Vernon Taylor retired as Executive Chairman of TMS Group. Vernon founded Tailor Made Systems Ltd in 1984, and invented the MALMS system for photometric monitoring of airfield ground lighting which has developed into a global market-leading range of products. Actively involved in airfield lighting for over 20 years, Vernon developed a unique understanding of the subject and has been recognised world-wide as a 'guru' on the topic. He now plans to devote his time to his loves of sailing, travelling, organic gardening, his new home in South Devon and The Liz Taylor Memorial Trust, a charity established in memory of his late wife who was loved, and is still missed, by so many.

TMS Group has been bought from Vernon by the existing managers. Vernon commented "I am truly proud of my achievements in Tailor Made Systems Limited. MALMS is a well established and highly regarded brand with great products providing an excellent foundation for continuing the company's growth and success. I am pleased that I exit the business as a going-concern which will continue to benefit the colleagues who have worked with me for over 20 years, as well as our customers, global network of agents and sub-contractors. My only regret is that my late wife Liz, who contributed so much to the company's success, is not here with me to share this moment."

The management of TMS group know that his many friends around the world join in wishing Vernon an enjoyable and well-earned retirement.
